Dar IT firm, US institution launch Oracle University
in coloboration

Vesl Technologies of Dar es Salaam, in collaboration with Oracle University based in the US, have launched Oracle University in Tanzania.
The inauguration of the university was done at a colourful ceremony in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Speaking to The Guardian in an interview at his office yesterday, VESL Technologies managing director, Vijaye Beeharry, said launching of Oracle University in Tanzania would provide an opportunity for Tanzanians to be awarded Oracle professional certification locally.
He said the collaboration would make Tanzanian IT community more efficient and skilled at a very minimal cost.
``Courses to be offered, aim at building capacity of institutions in the country, to enhance their productivity and achieve maximum profits during their operations,`` Beeharry observed.
He said the institutions would include banks, the private sector, industries, government departments and other institutions, airlines, energy sector, utilities, mining, health, educational institutions as well as the IT industry which stand to enhance their productivity once they applied Database Administration (DBA) courses.
Oracle University would provide certificates of attendance to qualified students which could also be taken online.
VESL discovered the demand for quality training and certification and would be eager to work in achieving the desired goal by investing in Oracle Technology.
The technology is said to be only the first step towards achieving the full business value for information technology.
``With the government`s support, our aim is to create the foundationstowards building the cyber city in the East African region,`` he said.
